BarTender: Print Jobs Pane |
The BarTender: Print Jobs pane, which you can access by clicking a filter in the BarTender: Print Jobs view of the View Selector pane, displays information about BarTender document print jobs. You can browse print jobs by using the navigation bar at the bottom of the pane and use the search toolbar to filter the records by the search term that you enter.
The BarTender: Print Jobs pane displays both general and detailed information about each print job. To access detailed print job information, such as the status history and job messages, expand the print job by clicking the icon on the left side of the row. When you do this, the following tabs are displayed:
Status History: Displays all print job statuses that were encountered by the print job.
Job Messages: Displays all BarTender application messages that occurred while the print job ran.
Use the search toolbar to filter the records in the BarTender: Print Jobs pane. You can search for specific text and/or specify a time span to filter data by in the BarTender System Database.

Specifies the text to search for. Click in the field to display previous searches.
Contains a list of predefined time filters that you can use to limit the search results.
Searches all of the available print job records for the specified text and displays the records that meet the search criteria.
Removes all search criteria and displays the complete list of print job records.
When BarTender runs a print job, it stores information about the print job as fields in the BarTender System Database. You can view this information by adding or removing columns in the BarTender: Print Jobs pane.
The following information is stored about each print job in the BarTender System Database:
Computer: Displays the name of the computer that created the print job.
Created Time: Displays the date and time when the print job was created.
Created Time (UTC): Displays the date and time when the print job was created in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
Document: Displays the file name of the document that was printed.
Document Path: Displays the path of the document that was printed.
Document Revision: Displays the revision number of a file that is stored in Librarian.
Copies: Displays the number of copies of the label that were printed.
Job Name: Displays the name of the print job that was printed.
Last Status: Displays the last recorded status of the print job. When you point to the field, a tooltip appears that displays the status description.
Printed Items: Displays the total number of items that were printed.
Printer: Displays the name of the printer.
Serialized Copies: Displays the number of serialized copies of the label that were printed.
Total Pages: Displays the total number of pages that were printed.
User: Displays the name of the user who ran the print job.
To configure column properties, right-click a column header to open the context menu. The options that are displayed vary depending on the pane in which the selected column is located and on the properties that are already configured.
The following options are available:
Clear All Sorting: Clears all custom sorting and displays the contents of the pane in the default order. Available when the selected column is sorted in ascending or descending order.
Group By This Column: Groups all records by the selected column.
Hide/Show Group By Box: Hides or shows the Group By box.
Hide This Column: Hides the selected column.
Columns: Lists the available columns for the active pane. Use this option to hide a column or to show a previously hidden column.
Best Fit: Resizes the selected column to a width that displays all of the text in that field.
Best Fit (All Columns): Resizes all columns to a width that displays all of the text in each field of the column.
Filter Editor: Opens the Filter Editor dialog, which you can use to create a conditional expression for your filter. Not available for all columns.
Show/Hide Find Panel: Shows or hides the Find panel, which includes a search box that you can use to search for items in the result set.
Show Auto Filter Row: Displays the Auto Filter row, which you can use to filter the items in the result set. Not available for all columns.
Collapse/Expand All: Collapses or expands grouped data rows.
Fit Columns to Window: Resizes all columns to expand to fill the active pane.
When you right-click a record in the BarTender: Print Jobs pane, History Explorer displays a menu that includes copy and paste options and reprint and grid viewing capabilities. The options that are available vary depending on the item that you click. The following options are available:
Reprint: Opens the Reprint Items dialog, which you can use to reprint the selected item.
Copy Row: Copies the data in the selected row to the Clipboard.
Copy Cell: Copies the data in the selected cell to the Clipboard.
Expand All: Expands all collapsed records so that you can view all records within each group. Available when records are grouped by one or more category.
Collapse All: Collapses all expanded records. Available when records are grouped by one or more category.
Save Document: Opens the Save File dialog, which you can use to save the print job file. When you do this, you can recover the document for later use with no need to keep the original on your local computer, and you can recover documents that were used by others.
Save As PDF: Opens the Save As PDF dialog, which you can use to save a copy of the printed output from the print job as a PDF document. This means that if your print job included more than one printed item, all of those items are part of the same PDF document.
Use the navigation bar to quickly browse through the records in the pane.
Moves to the previous record.
Moves to the previous page of data.
Moves to the first record.
Moves to the next record.
Moves to the next page of data.
Moves to the last record.
