When you double-click an object that you have positioned inside the layout gird object, you open that object's Object Properties dialog.

The Layout Grid Properties dialog provides access to the property pages for a layout grid object.
To open the Layout Grid Properties dialog, double-click the outer edges or the internal grid lines of a layout grid object. Alternatively, use the secondary mouse button to click the outer edges or the internal grid lines of a layout grid object, and then click Properties.
