Printer Maestro: Printer Events

Printer Maestro records information about all events that are encountered by print jobs. Information about all events, from applications in the BarTender Suite and from non-BarTender applications, is stored in the BarTender System Database, including information about the event time, severity level, hardware, message contents, and item description. By using the options in the Printer Maestro: Printer Events view, you can filter, sort, and view this information in History Explorer.

To log Printer Maestro print jobs to the BarTender System Database and subsequently display them in History Explorer, you must enable the BarTender System Database event target in Printer Maestro. To do this, click to select the Enable check box on the Events tab of the Events Setup dialog in Printer Maestro. For more information, refer to the Events Tab topic in the Printer Maestro help system.

To display printer event information, click one of the filter options under the Print Maestro: Printer Events header in the View Selector pane. You can use a predefined filter or customize your own.

The following filter options are available:

All Printer Events: Displays all printer events that are logged to the BarTender System Database.

Events by Printer: Displays all printer events that are logged to the BarTender System Database as grouped by printer.

Custom: Displays the custom filter controls at the top of the Printer Maestro: Printer Events pane. You can use these controls to create custom filters to display only those printer events that meet specific criteria. For more information, refer to Creating Custom Filters.

After you click a filter, printer event information appears in the Printer Maestro: Printer Events pane. You can customize the display by sorting, grouping, or filtering the data.
