PosiCode

The PosiCode symbology was developed for use in direct marking processes, where it is difficult to control the width of the bars in a barcode. It is a continuous, "position based" one-dimensional symbology: all bars are the same width, and the encoded data is determined by the position of the bars relative to one another.

The standard version can encode all 8-bit values.

The limited version supports the following characters:

ClosedThe Symbology Structure

Each encoded character is comprised of three bars and three spaces. Each bar is approximately the same width, while the distance between bars (i.e. each space) is a multiple of the bar width. Distance between bar centers vary from 2-9 units for PosiCode A and 3-10 units for PosiCode B.

All PosiCode barcodes end with a mandatory check character, which contains six bars and six spaces, followed by a stop character of four bars and three spaces.
