OPC stands for Optical Product Code. Derived from Interleaved 2-of-5, this symbology is primarily used in the marking of retail products. It identifies the product and manufacturer of an item.
This symbology supports the numeric characters 0 through 9.
OPC contains a string of 10 digits:
5 digits identifying the manufacturer, as assigned by the Optical Product Code Council, Inc.
4 digits identifying the product, as assigned by the manufacturer
1 digit mandatory check digit
