Han Xin Code

Han Xin Code is a 2-dimensional, variable size, matrix symbology, designed specifically to encode Chinese characters. The symbol consists of an array of square modules arranged in a square pattern. There are 84 sizes (versions) of Han Xin Code, ranging from 23 square modules to 189 square modules. Though this symbology is optimized to encode characters from the Simplified Chinese character set (GB18030), it is also capable of encoding all ASCII characters and numeric digits.

Four selectable levels of error correction are available, which allow a barcode with up to 30% of damaged codewords to still read properly. With minimum error correction levels, Han Xin Code can encode up to 2174 common Chinese characters, 3261 binary bytes, 4350 ASCII characters, or 7827 numeric characters. Multiple data types can be encoded in the same symbol.
