Channel Code

Channel Code is a one-dimensional symbology designed to encode numeric values between 2 and 7 digits in the smallest length possible. It contains 6 different channels ranging from 3 to 8, from which the symbology takes its name. In general, the channel number corresponds to one more than the number of digits encoded in the barcode.

In order for a scanner to read a given channel code, it must be attuned to the specific channel of the code in question. For this reason, it is recommended to manually set the channel of the barcode to the same channel to which all relevant scanners will be attuned.

This symbology supports the numeric characters 0 through 9.

Unlike other barcodes designed for numeric data, each digit in a Channel Code does not have its own unique bar pattern. Instead, the entire data input is encoded based on the selected channel. Each channel supports its own range of values:
