Information Pane |
The Information pane displays detailed information of the most recently selected item in the active pane, such a selected printer, computer, print job, or event message. The information contained within this pane is grouped logically; for example, a print job event will have information about the job itself, the job's status, the user who executed the print job, and the printer the job was sent to.
You can change the information displayed in the Information pane by selecting an icon along the top edge of the pane. The following options are available:
Displays detailed information about the selected computer, as well as the network it is connected to.
Displays detailed information about the selected printer, such as the printer port in use, the driver that is installed, and the model specifications.
Displays detailed information about the selected print job, as well as the printer it was sent to.
Displays detailed information about the event message, such as the computer and print job that generated the message.
Displays detailed information about the selected inventory item.
In most cases, the Information pane is for information display only. The one exceptions is when inventory items have been moved to a printer. In this case, each inventory item in the printer is displayed grouped according to its inventory category. If you expand an individual inventory item, the current usage statistics are displayed, along with an Action item containing two buttons:
Usage: Launches the Item Usage dialog, which allows you to modify the usage settings for the installed inventory item.
Remove: Launches the Remove Item from Printer dialog, which allows you to remove the item from the selected printer.
