Events Pane Messages |
Using the Events Pane Messages dialog you may choose which event messages to display in the Events Pane.
The Message List contains a list of all possible event messages displayed in rows, one row per message. The information for each row is displayed in three fields. You may change the order of the fields by dragging a column header to a new position. A brief description of the fields follows.
ID: The message ID number.
Severity: Each message is classified as an error, a warning or an informational message.
Message: The text of the message. Text surrounded by brackets, such as: '{example}', will be replaced with information relating to the specific event when that message is sent.
The rows in the message list may be grouped in a couple of ways. You may group the rows by Category or Type, or leave the rows ungrouped. Grouping may be changed by selecting Group By in the context menus available by right clicking on the list. By default, the rows are grouped by category.
The rows in the message list may be sorted using any of the fields by clicking a field's column header. Clicking a second time toggles between ascending and descending sorts. A secondary sort order may be specified by holding the Shift key and clicking the column header of a different field. Rows are only sorted within their respective groups. By default, the message rows are unsorted.
Rows may be selected in several ways. Individual rows may be selected by clicking on a row with the left or right mouse button. If the right mouse button is used, a context menu is also displayed. If one row is already selected, holding down the Shift key while clicking another row with the left mouse button will select the two rows and all intervening rows. If one row is already selected, holding down the Ctrl key while clicking other rows with the left mouse button will include those rows in the selection.
A context menu can be displayed by clicking the right mouse button on the message list.
The contents of this menu are: Clear Selection which will deselect all messages currently highlighted, Select All which will select all messages in the list, and Group By which displays a submenu that allows you to change how the message rows are grouped.
