Supported Encoding Technologies |
BarTender supports several RFID, magnetic stripe, and smart card standards on capable printers. When the corresponding Windows "Drivers by Seagull" are installed, you can click the icon on the object toolbar to choose from the standards that are available on your printer.
BarTender supports the following encoding standards:
Magnetic stripe technology enables information to be encoded by using magnetic particles, which are read by physical contact with a magnetic reading device.
RFID technology can be used to replace or supplement information in text or a barcode that would otherwise require reading by a human or a barcode reader. It works by using a small transponder to broadcast the data.
Smart Card Encoding Technology
A smart card, sometimes called a chip card or an integrated circuit card (ICC), is a plastic card with a built-in microprocessor, typically used for electronic processes such as financial transactions and personal identification.
