Licensing

Use the Licensing section of Administration Console to view and manage BarTender licenses and license servers, activate new licenses, monitor printer activity and permissions, view user activity history, create printer pools, and configure alerts.

To upgrade to the next version of BarTender you must have an active Maintenance and Support Agreement (MSA). If you do not have an active MSA, you will not be able to activate your upgraded version of BarTender.

The MSA enables you to upgrade the BarTender Licensing Service (BLS) to the newest version. The BLS must always be the lastest version in order to run the newest version of BarTender. When you upgrade BarTender, you should upgrade the BLS first so that activating BarTender proceeds smoothly.

To access the Licensing section and view the Licensing page, click the Licensing node in the left navigation pane of Administration Console. Expand the node to see the other licensing pages.

Printer Usage Page

Monitor printer-related information for all license servers that have at least one license, monitor printer activity, and manage printer permissions.
User Activity Page

View the user activity history, by time period, for all license servers that have at least one license.
License Setup Page

View detailed license and printer pool information for all license servers that have at least one license.
Redundancy Page

Configure licensing servers that provide redundancy that you can use for automatic failover. You can set servers up in a backup relationship or in a triad relationship.
Alert Setup Page

Set up alerts and optionally configure an email account to send alert messages.
Change Printer Group Dialog

Add a selected printer to an existing printer group or to a new group that you create.
Email Setup Dialog

Specify an email account to send alert messages to.
