Transparency

The Transparency control defines the degree to which an object is visible when overlapped by another object. As transparency approaches 100%, the top object will become less visible, to the point at 100% that it is invisible over the lower object. Meanwhile, as transparency approaches 0%, the top object will become more opaque, and at 0% will completely obscure the object below. Transparency can be controlled separately for both lines and fill colors of the same object.

The figures below illustrate transparency in action. Each figure consists of a white circle on top of a blue square. The only changes are to the transparency of the circle. Note that in the last figure, the fill color of the circle is completely transparent, and therefore invisible.
