File DSN Tab |
The File DSN tab allows you to add, delete, and configure File data sources. Existing File data sources are listed in the list box on the left side of the dialog. These data sources can be shared among all users that have the same ODBC drivers installed; they are not dedicated to a specific user or computer.
Look In. Displays the directory for which the sub-directories and file DSNs are listed in the list box below it. The default directory that is initially displayed when the ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog is first opened is contained in the system information, but you can change this with the Set Directory button.
Clicking replaces the directory shown in the Look in box with the directory located one level up.
Add. Opens the Create New Data Source dialog, from which you select the driver you want to use to set up the data source. After you make your driver selection, click Next to specify the name or location of the new file data source. Click Next again to view a summary of the new data source information. Click Finish to display the driver-specific setup dialog box.
Remove. Removes the currently selected File data source.
Configure. Opens the setup dialog relevant to the currently selected File data source.
Set Directory. Sets the directory currently indicated in the list box as the default when the ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog is opened.
