You can easily lock a layer in
To prevent modification of a layer using password protection
Select the desired layer from the Layers pane of the Toolbox.
In the layer preview image, click the icon to lock the layer.
From the File menu, select
Type your desired password in the New Password field.
Re-type your desired password in the Confirm Password field.
If desired, type in a Password Hint. Otherwise, leave the Password Hint field blank.
In the Protected Actions list, enable Modify Layers.
If desired, enable Remember Document Password Until Close.
Click OK to close the dialog.
Once the password has been set, locked layers will require a password to be unlocked. The password will be required to access the Layer Properties dialog for all layers or change the order of layers. Users can manipulate the size, location, and quantity of all objects within unlocked layers; additionally, they can add new objects to those layers without needing to input the password.
To limit modification of a template to a specific region of a label
Once a password lock has been enabled using the procedure above, click the icon on all layers that need to be locked, entering the password as needed.
In the Layers pane of the Toolbox, double-click on the layer you wish to leave open OR open the context menu of the layer and select Properties to open the Layer Properties dialog.
In the Print Options tab of the Layer Properties dialog, enable Clip objects to bounding rectangle.
Define the position of the rectangle using the Top and Left fields.
Define the dimensions of the rectangle in the Width and Height fields.
Click OK to confirm the change.
With this configuration, only the area within the rectangle can be edited by users without the password.
