Oracle Database

When you select Oracle as the Database Platform in the Add Database Connection Wizard, you need to enter the server information of the database to use with BarTender.

There are two ways to select an Oracle database as your data source:

  1. Type the server name into the Server field. If the database requires a login, enter the user name and password into the corresponding fields. The Save User Name and Password to BarTender Document option saves the login information as part of the open document. This option is disabled for OLE DB data sources that do not have a user ID or password.

  2. Click the Advanced button to open the Windows Data Link Properties dialog. Enter the database path and file name and/or provide the necessary security credentials to access the database. For more information, refer to the Windows' help documentation.

Once you have defined an Oracle database, select Test Connection to verify that BarTender successfully connects to the database on the specified server.
