Connecting to an ODBC Data Source |
If you have already created a named ODBC data source using the ODBC Administrator, you can use the data as input into data sources on your templates.
To connect to an ODBC data source
Select Database Connection Setup from the File menu to open the Database Connection Setup dialog. Alternatively, select the icon on the main toolbar.
If you have not previously specified a database for the document,
From the initial dialog of the Add Database Connection Wizard, click Next.
Select ODBC Data Source from the Database Platform options. Click Next.
For Type, select one of the three types of ODBC data sources.
User Data Source. When User Data Source is selected, you can then select an available database from the Data Sources list.
System Data Source. When System Data Source is selected, you can then select an available database from the Data Sources list.
File Data Source. When File Data Source is selected, click the Select File button to navigate to the DSN file.
Click Next.
Specify the available table(s) you want to use. Click Next.
If you select more than one table, join the tables. Click Finish.
