Printing Order Tab |
The Printing Order tab, located on the Page Setup dialog, controls the order in which multiple items are printed on a single page of stock. Furthermore, you can specify where to start printing if a previous print job resulted in unused stock. These options only apply when printing items that have multiple items per "page," such as laser or ink-jet printer labels.
Printing Order
Starting Corner. Specifies which corner of the page will print as the first item.
Primary Direction. Specifies the direction in which items will print. Horizontal means items will print row by row, and they will print left or right across each row depending on the starting corner. Vertical means items will print column by column, and they will print up or down in each column depending on the starting corner.
Select starting position at print-time. When enabled, displays a dialog at the start of a print job that allows the user to define which items prints as the first one. This is especially valuable when you need to start printing on a sheet of labels that has been partially used. The value you enter in the prompt will not be any number that actually appears on the item. It merely indicates the location of the starting item on a page of stock, given the values you have set for starting corner and primary direction. Use the preview pane on the dialog to determine the number you should use.
Continue from last position of previous job. Keeps track of which item on a partially used sheet should be the first item in the next print job. When this is enabled,
