Background Image Processing Dialog |
The Background Image Processing dialog allows you to modify and render the background picture or template image on your template. As you change any of the settings, the image displayed on the template will update to reflect the changes. Using the Background Image Processing dialog, you can adjust the coloring, focus, or rotation of the background image.
The following tabs are available:
Color Adjustment
Contrast. Allows you to adjust the difference of tone between light and dark colors. Move the slider to the left to decrease the difference between colors, and to the right to increase the difference.
Brightness. Allows you to adjust the level of colors in the selected picture. Move the slider to the left to darken the picture, and to the right to lighten the picture.
Hue. Allows you to adjust the color of the selected picture. When you adjust an image's hue, the base color of the image rotates around the color wheel, while maintaining its brightness and saturation. Move the slider to the left or right to change the colors in the image on a scale of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, or violet.
Saturation. Allows you to adjust the amount of color in the selected picture. Move the slider to the left to make the image appear more gray, and to the right to make the colors more vivid.
Blur and Sharpen
Blur/Sharpen. Allows you to adjust the clarity of the selected picture. By blurring an image, you soften the image by decreasing the contrast of the edges. By sharpening an image, you make the image more distinct and clear by increasing the contrast of the edges.
Straighten
Rotate. Specifies a rotation angle of the selected picture in tenths of a degree. If you enter a positive number, the picture is rotated counter-clockwise. If you enter a negative number, the picture is rotated clockwise.
Shear. Specifies a shear angle of the selected picture in tenths of a degree. If you enter a positive number, the top of the picture will be horizontally sheared to the left. If you enter a negative number, the top of the picture will be horizontally sheared to the right.

If you use the Rotate or Shear options, the effects will be applied to the picture prior to cropping an image. To rotate an image after cropping an image, use the Rotation option on the Position property page. |

The Effects tab allows you to apply advanced formatting options to the background image. As you change any of the settings, the image displayed on the template will update to reflect the changes. Using the Effects tab, you can flip a picture, inverse the colors, or change the transparency of the selected image.
Effects
Mirror Horizontal. Flips the background picture about the horizontal axis.
Mirror Vertical. Flips the background picture about the vertical axis.
Negative (Inverse Colors). Inverts the colors of the background picture. When selected, the dark areas of the selected picture become bright, and bright areas become dark, like a photographic negative.
Transparency. Determines the degree to which the background image allows objects under it to be seen. "Full transparency", a value of 100%, causes the color to be completely invisible. Any value less than 100% causes "partial transparency", much like seeing objects through a colored piece of stained glass.
