View Tab

The View tab, located on the BarTender Document Options dialog, enables you to specify the ruler, grid, and magnification settings for BarTender's user interface; additionally, you can specify whether or not BarTender will indicate on-screen (with a lightly dashed line) the boundary of any possible unprintable portion of your items. BarTender displays rulers along the horizontal and vertical boundaries of the user interface to help you position objects on the template. The current position of the mouse cursor in the user interface is always indicated by a lightly dashed line in the horizontal and vertical rulers.

Show Unprintable Region. Specifies whether the boundary of the unprintable region of an item will be indicated on the template with a lightly dashed line.

Rulers

Divisions per <unit>. Specifies the number of division marks per unit of measure on BarTender's rulers (where <unit> is inch, cm, mm, or the system default). BarTender allows you to specify from 1 to 100 divisions per unit.
Snap to Object or Ruler. When enabled, snaps the alignment of moved or resized objects to divisions on the ruler, other objects, and the boundaries and center lines of the templates and data entry forms themselves.

Grid

BarTender's rulers are supplemented by a grid system which displays a specified number of grid points (dots) or lines within the design area. The grid can be very helpful for the precise positioning and resizing of objects on the template or data entry form.

Divisions per <unit>. Specifies the number of equally spaced grid points or lines which will appear for each unit of measure in BarTender's grid (where <unit> is inch, cm, mm, or the system default). BarTender allows you to specify from 1 to 100 divisions per unit.
Snap to Grid. When enabled, snaps the alignment of moved or resized objects to divisions onthe grid.
Show Grid. When enabled, displays the grid in the design area.
Grid Color. Specifies the color of the grid points or lines when the grid is visible. Select the desired color from the list of available colors. If the color you wish to use is unavailable, select More Colors to open the Colors dialog, and make your selection from the additional color choices. Alternatively, click on the Custom tab to select a custom color.
Grid Style. Specifies how the grid appears when it is visible in the design area. Options include points (displays only the intersection points of the grid), solid (displays the grid with solid lines), and dashed (displays the grid with dashed lines).

You can use the icons on the view toolbar to enable the following options in the View tab of the BarTender Document Options dialog:
