Scripting Objects Reference

The topics contained within this section refer to using Visual Basic Scripting within BarTender's user interface. To automate BarTender from an external application, you will need to use BarTender's ActiveX Automation interface or install the BarTender .NET SDK. For more information, see Automating BarTender in the main help system.

In addition to the many objects, properties, operators, functions, and constants that are built into Visual Basic Script, BarTender includes a number of application-specific objects, properties, functions, and constants for your use. All of these are listed in the Script Editor's Script Assistant pane. This pane is dynamic, meaning that some categories and some sub-categories will appear in the pane only under certain circumstances.

Template Objects

Lists all of the objects that you have added to your template, and their associated properties such as font, color, and position.
Global Objects

Lists the VB-level objects available for your use, including the Application, BtColor, Format, PageSetup, PCM, PCT, and ViewRecordNavigator objects.
Constants

Describes each of the BarTender-specific constants that are available.

Functions

Lists commonly used functions. While the Script Assistant pane includes both application-specific functions as well as general VBScript functions, this help system covers only the application-specific ones.
