Installing a Scale

To use a scale, you first have to install and configure it to be compatible with BarTender. BarTender natively supports a number of specific scale manufacturers and models. If your scale is one of these supported models, add your scale by walking through the Add Scale Wizard.

If your scale's manufacturer is supported but your model is not, or if your manufacturer is not supported, BarTender may still be able to work with your scale, as BarTender allows you to install and configure user-defined scales.

  1. From the Administer menu, select Weighing Scale Setup to open the Weighing Scale Setup dialog.

  2. Click the Add Scale button to open the Add Scale Wizard.

  3. Click Next to open the Select Scale Model page of the Add Scale Wizard.

  4. Scroll through the Manufacturer list to locate your scale's manufacturer. If your manufacturer appears in the list, select it, and scroll through the Models list to locate your scale's model.

    If your manufacturer and model appear on the list, refer to Adding a Supported Scale. If your model and/or manufacturer are not listed, refer to Adding a User-Defined Scale.
