Global Data Fields Dialog

Global data fields are embedded named data sources stored in the BarTender System Database. By storing these named data sources in a centralized location, they are easily shared across all users, computers, and BarTender documents that are connected to the same BarTender System Database. For example, a single global data field can serve as a counter that is shared between different documents.

Global data fields are controlled using the Global Data Fields dialog, which resembles the Data Sources property page.

The Global Data Fields dialog is accessed in the following ways:

• In the Data Sources pane of the Toolbox, select Manage Global Data Fields from the context menu for Global Data Fields.

• In the Data Sources pane of the Toolbox, double-click on an existing global data field.

• Click the Global Data Field Properties button on the Data Source property page when Global Data Field is selected as the data source type.
