Error Correction (Grid Matrix)

The Grid Matrix symbology supports five levels of Reed-Solomon error correction. The levels are percentage-based, between 10% and 50%, representing the percent of error correcting codewords to the total number of codewords rounded down to the nearest integer.

Error correction levels 1 (10%) and 2 (20%) are appropriate for symbols with high quality and/or where the required dimensions of symbols must be as small as possible. Symbols suitable for error correction level 3 (30%) and level 4 (40%) have proper dimensions and good reliability. Level 5 (50%) is appropriate for symbols with poor print quality or high damage potential.
